“And now there remain: faith [abiding trust in God and His promises], hope [confident expectation of eternal salvation], love [unselfish love for others growing out of God’s love for me], these three [the choicest graces]; but the greatest of these is love.”

1 Corinthians 13:13 AMP

Why I created Sara, Living Free

For years, I felt trapped in an endless struggle to become who I thought I should be.

Often, the world battered me with lies about who I should be, and I followed its lead like a puppy to the slaughter.

Other times, my own preconceived ideas of the “perfect Christian” made me stuff down pieces of myself until I didn’t know who I was anymore.

Can you relate?

My painful path to find true freedom

Finding freedom to be yourself isn’t always an easy road, but it’s worth it!

I grew up with loving parents and siblings. I knew God and chose to be baptized at 16.

By the time I reached 20, however, my life was steeped in alcohol, parties, promiscuity, selfishness, and more. I hardly knew what I wanted. One day, I got drunk at a bar, and the next, I attended church with my parents.

Yet… there was something inside me that knew the Truth and wanted to be near the Light. Trouble was that when night came, temptation arose, and I willingly entered the darkness once more.

With each year that passed, I lost more and more of who I was. This was the season when the world held me in its clutches.

Finally, after getting married and becoming pregnant with my first child, something changed inside my heart: I wanted God. I wanted to be His. And I wanted my children to know him.

This began a beautiful growth process as I read God’s word, prayed, studied, and grew to love Jesus in a way I never had before.

I was on the right path, yet this became a season when my own ideas of what a “proper” Christian looked like forced me to silence certain pieces of my personality.

Freedom is a journey

Truly surrendering my life to God when I was pregnant with my first child was a major turning point in my quest for freedom. Since then,

God has continuously brought me – step by step – along a journey of ever-increasing freedom to be exactly who HE made me to be.

Who knew that the best version of myself was… myself?

It’s my mission to help you find freedom, too!

This is why I created Sara, Living Free. I want to share with you my continuing journey to more and more freedom so that you can find hope and encouragement on your own journey with Christ.

It’s time to become the WHOLE you!
